• Usage

  1-(Tert-butoxycarbonyl)-2-pyrrolidone is a useful synthetic intermediate. It can be used to prepare highly functionalized N-acyl-2-vinylpyrrolidines via the 4-component Ugi reaction (isocyanide, carbonyl compound, primary amine, carboxylic acid). 1-(Tert-butoxycarbonyl)-2-pyrrolidone can also be employed in the synthesis of naturally occurring Maillard flavor compounds through catalytic SeO2 oxidation.
